Hear What Other Okanagan Wine Enthusiasts Are Saying

At OkanaganWine.Club, we work hard to give our members a fantastic experience. From the wine quality to the shipping process and beyond, we strive to leave you satisfied with your purchase. That’s why local wine lovers like you are saying things like this:

We’re proud to offer you a great selection of wines and as a member of the Okanagan Wine Club, you’re part of a unique wine experience that has its own Okanagan twist. These and other satisfied club members are proof that buying the best Okanagan wines on the market can be affordable, convenient, and fun.

The Okanagan Wine Club: Bringing You Quality Local Wines You’ll Love

Here at the Okanagan Wine Club, we’re passionate about bringing you great local wines from world-renowned and boutique wineries. As wine lovers ourselves, we know how challenging it is to walk into a liquor store and find a new bottle of wine to try (many of our selections CAN’T be found in liquor stores). Will it pair nicely with the meal you’ve planned? Is it a good vintage? We’ve had these questions ourselves, and that’s why we work hard to take the guesswork out of trying new wines. We work directly with some of the Okanagan’s best wineries to hand-select the top seasonal offerings and bring them straight to your door.

What does that mean? It means you can spend less time analyzing your wines and more time enjoying them. It means you’ll never again have to guess whether or not 2011 was a good year for local whites or whether you’re overpaying for that bottle of Merlot. Put away your vintage charts; when you shop through the Okanagan Wine Club, you’ll benefit from our wine experts’ knowledge and experience in choosing great local wines.

No Monthly Fee Means You Only Pay for What You Want

One common question we often get is what monthly dues we charge to be part of the club. The answer? None. We don’t charge our members any kind of monthly fee whatsoever. Joining the club is absolutely free, and always will be.

The Okanagan Wine Club is not a monthly membership site, and this is important for several reasons:

  •  No monthly membership fee means you can try wines at your leisure.
  • You can pick and choose the sample packs you want to receive without having to cancel a featured pack (I always forgot to cancel and got stuff I didn’t want).
  • No inventory on hand means we don’t guarantee sales to the wineries, which means they give us their highest quality wine.

Our partner wineries know that our current and future club members are passionate about great wine, and that our members represent a significant part of the wine enthusiast community – that means the wineries are proud to present their very best wines to Okanagan Wine Club members

The VIP Lounge: How to Get In

We value all of our members and offer club members a variety of great services, but as a VIP member, you’ll receive several added perks you won’t find anywhere else. Our VIP members benefit from all sorts of bonus offers that the general public won’t ever hear about. VIP members also have priority access to exclusive wine packs, so you can order your wines a full day before the general public and benefit from exclusive deals from our partner organizations.

The Meyer Family Wine Pack – Winter Series

The 6 wines in front of you were hand picked by OkanaganWine.Club as they are a great representation of the quality and overall portfolio at Meyer Family Vineyards located in Okanagan Falls, BC.

Meyer Family Vineyards

Perfectly nestled in the heart of the Okanagan Falls, Meyer Family Vineyards has a reputation for producing premium Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. In the style of Burgundy, France, the winery produces elegant wines of intense flavour and complexity that have wonderful cellaring potential. At this point, Meyer is the No. 2 small winery in Canada and the No. 12 overall winery from the Wine Align National Wine Awards. They win multiple awards every year and has recently started exporting wine to the UK. Meyer is widely recognized as a quality producer of fine wine in Okanagan Falls.

With the help of a few consultants and an ideal winemaker, JAK and Janice Meyer began this project in 2005. What started out as a hobby winery turned into an all-consuming lifestyle they love. In 2006, they produced their first vintage, and they set the bar high with the goal of becoming one of the Okanagan area’s top wineries. Because the Meyer Family Vineyard models itself on the Burgundy tradition, the wines are elegant, layered, and well built but with a freshness unique to the Okanagan area. Today Meyer crafts sustainably grown wines from three vineyards on over fifteen acres:  McLean Creek Road Vineyard (the home vineyard), the Old Main Road Vineyard in Naramata, and the Reimer Vineyard in South East Kelowna. In large part because of Meyer, Okanagan Falls has become known as a subregion to watch for pinot noir.

Meyer is recognized in part for their older vines. Vine age produces complexity and a true representation of the terroir because

those roots have been reaching farther into the ground with every vintage. Meyers’ vines have a range of planting dates, with the oldest dating to 1994–1996 and later additions in 2006–2004 and 2017. Soil type definitely affects what we taste in the glass and  the vineyards at Meyer are perfectly suited to Chardonnay and Pinot noir. The three vineyards are generally made up of alluvial and glacial deposits so they contain a mix of gravel and sandy loam.

The man behind the wine, Chris Carson, is one of the Okanagan’s most talked about winemakers.  Carson has been at MFV since2008 and has a particular love of pinot noir. His work experience spans places such as Central Otago and Montrachet. He also has a degree in oenology/viticulture from the esteemed Lincoln University in New Zealand. Reflecting a sense of place and allowing the wines to develop naturally is the key to his winemaking approach, and his wines are full of subtlety, intrigue, and complexity.

About the wines

This sample pack is a beautiful selection of wines to have on hand for the holidays. At this time of year, Meyer is either sold out or running really low, so you are so lucky we caught them in time.

The selection in this wine pack will give you a glimpse of the range of Meyer wines that are sought after year after year. You will sample the last few cases of the crisp and refreshing 2016 Riesling and the aromatic and dry old-vine 2016 Gewürztraminer. Both were chosen specifically for you to enjoy with holiday canapés or perhaps Asian dishes on New Year’s Eve. We have the 2016 unoaked Okanagan Valley Chardonnay and the lively and elegant 2016 McLean Creek Road Chardonnay, as well as a balanced and delicious 2016 Okanagan Valley pinot noir. The pièce de résistance is the super-special NV Méthode Traditionnelle Extra Brut. This is the highly anticipated first-ever release of a sparkling wine from MFV. A blend of chardonnay and pinot noir, this special bottle is an absolute must for the stroke of midnight on December 31. In twenty-four sample packs, the 2016 Okanagan Valley pinot noir will be replaced with the 2015 Reimer Family Vineyard Pinot Noir. This is a dark and masculine-style Pinot Noir from the Reimer vineyard in East Kelowna.

All these wines are food friendly and versatile. This wine pack is so perfect for the holidays that it is sure to sell out quickly!

Why We Chose It: This wine is 70% Chardonnay and 30% Pinot Noir. The first-ever release of a sparkling wine from MFV, it is impressive and simply elegant. A “Non Vintage” wine consists of grapes that were harvested over multiple vintages. This is common in the Champagne wine region where reserve wines are used to create consistency and complexity in sparkling wine. Even though we recommend drinking sparkling wine as an everyday indulgence, midnight on NYE is the perfect time to pop some bubbly!

Awards: Silver Medal, National Wine Awards of Canada, 2017

FAQ

Do I Need to Sign a Contract?

Not at all! Joining the Okanagan Wine Club is entirely free and doesn’t require any paperwork. You have no contract with us and may choose to unsubscribe at any time. We do not trap you into monthly charges…you simply buy the sample packs you want 🙂 Simple.

What Happen If I Want to Leave the Okanagan Wine Club?

You don’t really have to leave, as you are not in a subscription! You just don’t buy anymore (but we doubt that will happen).

Is This a Connoisseurs-Only Club? Do I Have to Know Anything About Wine to Join the Club?

It can seem intimidating at first to join a wine club when you know nothing about wine, but rest assured you have nothing to fear. The Okanagan Wine Club is proud to offer a variety of educational materials that will help you to become a wine master in no time. Our weekly newsletters and blog articles are full of great information that can help you to better understand the wine world. With these materials, you’ll learn about wine regions, flavour and texture profiles, and all the big industry news. Best of all, it’s written in a beginner-friendly manner that assumes absolutely zero knowledge of wine, wine pairings, or the wine industry. Even if you’re starting fresh with no wine background whatsoever, you’ll love what we have to offer – and you’ll quickly learn everything you need to know.

Best of all, joining the Okanagan Wine Club is completely free and requires no monthly commitment. So even if you’re not a “wine club” person, you can still learn about, enjoy, and discuss the best wines in the Okanagan.

I Only Like One Kind of Wine!

One of the great advantages of joining our wine club is that you’ll be able to try new, boutique wines easier than ever. Perhaps the reason you don’t like white wines, for instance, is because you haven’t yet found the right white. Wines come in many diverse forms and flavour profiles, and by ordering today you get to try 6 new wines.

I Don’t Drink Enough Wine to Justify Joining a Wine Club!

Even if you don’t necessarily drink wine on a regular basis, you probably still celebrate with it, or entertain family and friends. It’s never a bad idea to have a few bottles of wine on hand should some old friends unexpectedly drop in – and by being prepared, you’ll look like a fantastic host. Wine also makes an excellent gift for birthdays and holidays. Invited for a dinner party? Quickly grab a nice bottle with a story to tell. No one will ship you wine automatically. If you order once, that’s it (until you choose to order more).

I’m Afraid to Give Out My Credit Card Number Online!

We understand that e-commerce can be intimidating, and credit card fraud is a real concern. We ensure that the winery in turn has a payment platform that uses secure SSL verification, a security method that prevents third parties from getting your information. SSL verification ensures that your computer only connects to trusted sites that independent third parties have confirmed as reliable. It’s the technological equivalent of keeping your credit card in a box with two different locks protecting it.

What If I Don’t Like Your Wine?

Here at the Okanagan Wine Club, we strive to bring you the best wine deals in the region – and in support of that mission, we’ve chosen to focus exclusively on cultivating and distributing a great selection of products.  By partnering with several different wineries, we’re able to offer you a wider selection of wines to try and enjoy.

Sadly, this means we have no control over the wine making process, and therefore we cannot guarantee the quality of each individual bottle. However, many of our partner wineries do allow you to return wine directly to the winery if the quality has been compromised. If you are unsatisfied with your wine purchase or the quality of your wine, please email us to help you solve the issue.

There’s A Specific Kind of Wine I Want, But You Don’t Offer It!

The great freedom we offer over traditional wine membership sites is that you, the user, are free to order the wine packs you want and decline the wine packs you don’t want. So thankfully, you’re not obligated to buy a wine you don’t think you’ll enjoy (we encourage trying new wines).

Here at the Okanagan Wine Club, we try to come out with new offers every two weeks. If you don’t see your preferred wine in our offers, send us an email and we’ll do our best to accommodate you.

Where am I Purchasing The Wine?

You are purchasing wine directly from the winery. All on their site but we are working closely with the wineries to ensure that OWC members get treated as true VIPs and enjoy a quality experience every time.
